Who We Are 

Tavo’s Automotive was established in 1974 by Gustavo Jimenez Jr. as a repair shop with towing service located on Rock Quarry Rd. in Crystal City. Previously Jimenez Garage (1968) operated by Gustavo Sr. and 4 of his sons. Tavo’s reputation rapidly grew because of his willingness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time. His customer base grew and so did the business.

In 1986 Tavo’s relocated to its current location on Veterans Ave. in downtown Crystal City. Since the original shop Tavo’s has also operated and managed a Bodyshop (1991) auto sales (2007) and a bail bond company (1993).

In 2007 Gustavo III took over operations and began concentrating on towing to include heavy duty towing recoveries. Tavo’s Towing currently has yards in Carrizo Springs (2013) Uvalde (2014) and Eagle Pass (2015) serving the counties of Dimmit, Maverick, Uvalde, and Zavala.

All of Tavo’s tow operators are TDLR licensed and WreckMaster certified. They continually train to keep up with latest equipment and safety procedures. They use Jerrdan and Century wrecker bodies. Currently Tavo’s Towing has 4 rollback wreckers, 1 medium duty wrecker, 5 heavy duty wreckers, an enclosed trailer (refer), step deck trailer, and 2 gooseneck trailers to haul equipment and recoveries. 2 service trucks with enclosed utility trailers and a skid steer for cleanup and recoveries that are in the brush.

We serve the Southwest Texas area, West and South of San Antonio, TX and we will travel as far as any tow requires.
